US-made reissue from early 1990s; the first guitar I ever bought new (out of two new purchases). I changed the stock pickguard to a aged mother-of-pearl beauty, and changed pickup covers and knobs at same time to aged white. Replaced the stock pickups to Pete Biltoft Vintage Vibe SP90 (voiced like a P90 in the size of a Strat; more girth and punch, but maintains Stratocaster sparkle and spank). Blocked the tremolo with a small stack of quarters (for sustain and tuning stability). Added a "push/pull" potentiometer in the center tone knob; it turns on the bridge pickup no matter where the pickup selector switch is set. Now I can get bridge+neck or all three pickups on at the same time. The "Custom" badge on the "ashtray" bridge cover is from the interior of a 1960s Pontiac.
